About Faith: The owner of PieceA'CakeConfections" as well as "cooking with faith", Ms. Wolf is a certified culinary instructor who has taught classes in gourmet kosher cuisine to adults, with a focus on the "newly kosher" cook and was also the Food and Dining Editor of BaltimoreJewishLife.com.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Valley Stream, NY, she learned about kosher cooking at an early age. She credits her maternal grandmother and her father as her greatest inspirations. She has worked as a waitress, party planner, private caterer for small parties, floral designer and consultant for organizational dinners and large charitable benefits. She earned an A.B. cum laude from Mt. Holyoke College and a Masters in Administrative Science from Johns Hopkins University. She honed her skills for many years as owner/president of Faith L. Wolf Associates, a marketing and event-planning company, before pursuing her passion as a culinary instructor in 1998. She became a member of the international Association of Culinary Professionals in 1999.
As the creator and department chair of the Culinary Arts Department, Ms. Wolf taught gourmet kosher cooking at a local day school for almost eight years. Over the years, Ms. Wolf has been an instructor at both Williams-Sonoma and Whole Foods, teaching both classes and demonstrations in gourmet kosher cuisine. Her debut class for Passover at Williams-Sonoma was the focus of a feature article in the Baltimore Sun April, 1998. She has also been featured in the Baltimore Jewish Times, Fifty-Plus and other local publications. Her holiday appearances on channels WMAR TV and WJZ TV garnered much interest and were well received within the Jewish community. As a culinary instructor and writer, Ms. Wolf has over 300+ recipes to her credit as the owner of "cooking with faith." tm. She was the Food and Dining editor of the popular Baltimore Jewish Life website and is currently working on compiling what she hopes will result in a beautifully illustrated book of her favorite cakes over the years.
Currently the CFO of a large medical sub-specialty practice, Ms. Wolf still finds time to pursue her culinary passion through the design and creation of personalized cakes, cupcakes, desserts and confections - all unique and all using kosher ingredients - upon request. To quote Ms. Wolf: "I strive to provide my clients with the highest level of customer care with a commitment to excellence that ensures that every one of my beautiful desserts or cakes is created with an acute attention to detail." If kosher certification is necessary for a particular venue, the desserts can be created and sealed under appropriate supervision.
Ms. Wolf resides in Baltimore with her husband and is the proud mother of four children, all of whom are married, their wonderful spouses, and the doting "Nonna" of twelve beautiful grandchildren. All are actively involved in meal consumption, if not always the preparation!
